The Barlow Road


One of the oldest and most celebrated wagon roads in Oregon history, the Barlow Road has remained in continuos use for over 150 years. Today it exists as a forest service road that decends the Eastern slopes of Mount Hood. The Barlow Road was constructed as an overland alternative the dangerous river route between The Dalles and the Portland area.
